OUR HISTORY
The Origin of Rhema Bible Church
Rhema Bible Church was founded in 1979 with 13 people in attendance in the home of Pastor Ray McCauley’s parents in 1979 after he returned from Bible School in the USA.
After moving to the former Constantia cinema, and then to a warehouse in Randburg, they soon outgrew their capacity and built the place and spiritual home we know today as Rhema Church in 1985, dedicated by Dr. Kenneth E. Hagin.
Under the leadership of Pastor Ray, Rhema was one of the first churches to defy Apartheid laws and have non-racial church services as an example of what was to come in the new South Africa. Rhema has continued to spread the word of God to all corners of the world.
Pastor Ray McCauley has handed the position of senior pastor in May 2022 to his son, Pastor Joshua McCauley and his wife, Pastor Tara McCauley, who continue to uphold Rhema’s dedication to spread God’s Word and salvation in our community and across the globe.
